And when I say perfect, I mean we perfectly avoided the rain in the forecast while these two shared their personalized vows to each other under a breezy afternoon at Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool before we headed downtown to their hotel, The Langham, to enjoy some cocktails and wrap up our day together celebrating the start of a new chapter for these two.
Alfred Caldwell is the perfect hidden pocket of nature tucked away from the city right next to the Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk. It was the most beautiful setting for these two to share everything they loved about each other + wipe each other’s happy tears away, all by themselves, feeling like the world is theirs.

You just need someone ordained to marry you, which you can either hire or bring an ordained friend along. Then choose your location (basically where you want to prettiest, most meaningful photos), say your vows, and bam! you’re married!
Okay–that’s a biiiiit of an oversimplification, but it’s still a LOT more laid back than a full wedding when it comes to planning all the details out. The best thing about this little amount of planning is that you can book them relatively last minute for whatever reason. I’ve had clients book these just so they can BE MARRIED already (thx covid postponements), or to make sure certain family members can be there at their ceremony, or to have wedding photos in a different location or season than their wedding reception photos.
I love how creative we can get with elopement ceremonies 🙂
LET ALLLLLL THE HAPPY TEARS FLOW AT THIS SUMMER CHICAGO ELOPEMENT…
Justin wiping Gosia’s happy tears as the two of them think about how they met, all the way to how they got here together–moving cities, putting down roots, starting a family…oh, how wonderful life is.
OF COURSE, GOSIA HAD THE MOST LOVELY BOUQUET BY THE FLOWER GIRL COMPANY, AND JUSTIN’S BOUTONNIERE WAS A SHOW STOPPER ALL BY ITSELF!
Our day wouldn’t be complete without a lobby shot in the iconic Langham Chicago, complete with champagne to cheers this day! Then we wandered around the area, making our way over to The Wrigley Building for some classically beautiful Chicago elopement photos that I just can’t get enough of.
“We love our pictures!!! Justin and I put on a good vinyl record and looked at them together last night and we both cried, especially seeing the ceremony shots.
You captured very precious moments for us, what an incredible memento for us. Please know that you definitely made our day extra special and your presence is so radiant just like your photos 🙂 Your professionalism is effortless and your talent is evident – your photos speak for themselves. You are absolutely the whole package and we are so lucky and thankful we found you!!!”
So there you have it folks…put on your favorite song, pour a drink or gather your favorite meal, and relive your day together as the perfect cozy date night <3
I cannot thank these two enough for being so great to work with and letting me celebrate their day along with them at Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool + The Wrigley Building!
